About MyDriveQuest

  • MyDriveQuest (MDQ) is a driving school based in Falkirk, and supporting the surrounding areas, that helps you build calm, confident control on the road through structured, step-by-step lessons aligned with your goals.

The focus is on helping you understand how to think and make decisions on the road, so you can feel more in control and become a safe, independent driver.

  • MDQ supports you so you feel confident behind the wheel.

I specialise in supporting drivers who want to build or rebuild confidence including people who are:

    • New drivers who feel like learning to drive might be tricky

    • Returning after time away

    • Learning later in life

    • Recovering from difficult driving experiences

MDQ is also suitable for learners who just want clear, structured lessons with steady progression, where each stage is explained properly before moving on.

Some people also prefer learning with a female instructor.

  • At MDQ, driving is taught as a thinking skill as much as a practical one.

When you understand what’s happening around you and why decisions are made, driving becomes clearer and less overwhelming. Progress is built step by step, with each stage designed to feel manageable before moving on.

A key part of how MDQ lessons are delivered is keeping them calm, engaging, and enjoyable. The aim is for learning to feel more natural and for driving itself to become an enjoyable experience over time, as pressure is reduced and understanding builds.

This comes from clear explanations, real-world relevance, and a steady, supportive pace that helps you stay focused without feeling rushed.

The aim is simple: to help you feel more comfortable, more in control, and more capable every time you drive.

  • Lessons at MDQ are calm, structured, and aligned with your goals.

There is no rushing and no pressure to move faster than you’re ready for, but with gentle nudges when the timing is right. Each lesson is built around steady progress, helping you understand what you’re doing and why it matters on the road.

Driving is broken down into small, manageable steps so confidence builds naturally as your skills develop. You’ll only move on when you’re consistently comfortable and capable with what you’re working on, so nothing is rushed or left half-understood.

  • Your first lesson is a trial lesson.

This is a normal part of the learning process and gives us both the opportunity to see if the MDQ approach is the right fit for you. It also helps you get comfortable with how lessons work, the pace, and the structure before moving forward.

Before we get the car on the road we’ll have a short chat about what your goals will be for the lesson and how you will achieve them. They will always be goals that we both agree on and will be a mix of continuing to build existing skills, focusing on a new one and a stretch goal; something that’s within your capability but pushes you that little bit futher in your learning.

Then we’ll get started on making progress on your goals while still keeping the atmosphere as light and enjoyable as possible so that your learning remains effective.

If something feels more challenging than expected, we’ll take the time to talk it through, break it down, and adjust the approach so you can work through it in a way that feels manageable.

The aim is for you to leave your first lesson with a clear understanding of what you’ve worked on and a sense of steady progress.

  • I’m a female Approved Driving Instructor (ADI), registered with the DVSA, with 3 years’ experience as an instructor.
